School policies and procedures

These policies establish the school-wide expectations Canadian Online Learning Academy will use for its planned Ontario secondary credit courses.

COLA Policy Manual · Version 1.1 · Revised August 18, 2026 · Effective when applicable operations begin · Reviewed at least annually and whenever Ministry policy changes.

Current authorization status: COLA has submitted a Notice of Intention to Operate and is preparing for Ministry validation and inspection. The school is not currently authorized to grant OSSD credits and is not accepting payment for credit courses. Publication of these policies does not mean that the Ministry has approved, accredited, licensed, or endorsed the school or its programs.
Founding Student Cohort policy

The no-fee Founding Student Cohort is being offered for selected Ontario secondary students, including students attending a school and students learning at home, during COLA's initial Ministry inspection process. While authority is pending, COLA will not guarantee, grant or record an OSSD credit. Students and parents will receive a written agreement covering credit status, schedule, attendance, authentic work, conduct, privacy, communication, withdrawal and records. COLA will maintain enrolment, identity, attendance, instructional, assessment, feedback and parent-communication evidence for school operations and Ministry review. If written authority is received, families will be informed how enrolment and completed work will be treated in accordance with Ministry direction.
