Focused Initial Program

Two courses prepared for initial inspection

COLA's focused launch consists only of ENL1W and CHV2O. Both are teacher-led Ontario curriculum courses and remain subject to Ministry authorization.

Canadian Online Learning Academy has submitted a Notice of Intention to Operate and is completing the required Ontario Ministry of Education registration and inspection process. COLA is not currently authorized to grant, guarantee or record OSSD credits. No OSSD credit may be guaranteed, granted or recorded before written Ministry authorization.

Teacher-led asynchronous delivery

COLA provides teacher-led, primarily asynchronous online instruction through Google Classroom. Students receive sequenced lessons, teacher direction, guided activities, feedback, individual support and opportunities for conferences or oral verification.

Assessment and attendance

For both courses, the final mark is 65% coursework, 20% securely administered written final examination, and 15% attendance and participation. Attendance is based on documented meaningful participation in scheduled learning, not login alone.

Future course development

Additional courses may be considered in the future after qualified staffing, complete course development and applicable Ministry requirements are satisfied. No additional course code is currently part of the focused launch.
