Canadian Online Learning Academy — 2026–27

This public calendar summarizes COLA's proposed initial courses, planned school dates, online delivery model, policies and student supports.

Authorization and initial-year scope: Canadian Online Learning Academy has submitted a Notice of Intention to Operate and is completing the required Ontario Ministry of Education registration and inspection process. COLA is not currently authorized to grant, guarantee or record OSSD credits and is not accepting payment for credit courses. The proposed initial program is limited to six individual Grade 9–11 courses. COLA will not offer Grade 12 courses, act as a student's primary OSR-holding school, or issue an OSSD during the initial year.

Planned organization
COLA plans two scheduled online semesters with weekly milestones, designated final-evaluation periods, mid-course reporting and final reporting. Business hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Eastern Time during scheduled school terms. Online meetings are available by appointment.

Scheduled instructional time
Each planned full-credit course is designed for at least 110 scheduled instructional hours; each planned half-credit course is designed for at least 55 hours. Inspection-format course outlines are being finalized for Ministry review.
Google Classroom access
Students use an individually verified Google account approved for course access. Account ownership, privacy, identity verification and acceptable-use requirements are documented during enrolment. No public Classroom join code is published.
Records and diploma responsibility
During the initial year, COLA will not act as the student's primary OSR-holding school or issue an OST or OSSD. The student's Ontario home or records-holding school remains responsible for overall diploma planning, the OSR and the OST.
